USB Capture SDI 4K Pro Supported Resolutions and Frame Rates (mac OS)

The USB Capture SDI 4K Pro is capable of capturing 4K video at 60 frames per second with 4:4:4 color fidelity. However, the maximum combinations of resolution, frame rate, color subsampling and bit depth that you can achieve will depend on your host system's USB interface and operating system.  A 20Gbps USB 3.2 Gen 2x2 interface is required for maximum performance but is not available on Mac systems.   While recent Mac systems include a Thunderbolt 4 port capable of 40Gbps, these ports are not backwards-compatible to USB3.2 Gen 2x2 at 20Gbps. USB throughput on these systems will be limited to 10Gbps or 5Gbps depending on the specific model and operating system version.   The below table outlines the combinations of resolution, frame rate, color format and chroma sampling that can be captured with the USB Capture SDI 4K Pro on macOS, depending on the host system's USB throughput capabilities (10Gbps or 5Gbps).   Systems running Windows or Linux operating systems will have different performance capabilities. How to use an iPad or iPhone as an HDMI source?

On the Director device （V3.1 and later）, an iPad or iPhone can be used as an HDMI source through a USB-C to HDMI adapter. The following figure shows how to connect an iPad to the Director device.   The tested adapters: Apple USB-C Digital AV Multiport Adapter UGREEN USB-C Hub 7-in-1 Type-C Dock Adapter (CM212) AENZR AZ2406 6-in-1 USB-C Hub Adapter Tips: If your iPad signal cannot be recognized by the Director device, you may try the following methods. On your iPad, go to Settings > Display & Brightness, check whether Director device is recognized in DISPLAYS. And you may tap Director XX and then toggle off “Allow Display Mode Changes”. Flip the USB-C connector over when plugging it into your iPad. Reconnect the HDMI cable or use another HDMI port.

How to use a tablet as the External Screen?

The External Screen feature of Director Utility app (V3.1 and later) applies for a tablet with a USB-C port (USB 3.0 and above). If you use an iPad, it should be running iPadOS 17 or later. To use this feature, the USB Type-C of the Director device (V3.1 and later) should be set to UVC + UAC mode.  Then connect the tablet and the device via the following methods.   Start using the External Screen: Open the Director Utility app on your tablet, and tap "External Screen" to start. Tap to select displayed content. Program: program signal Preview: preview signal Multi-view: 8 video boxes showing scene thumbnails at the bottom, and two larger boxes at the top, with the left one showing Preview view and the right one showing Program view. Duplicate Screen: duplicate all the elements on the device screen, and then you can control the device via the tablet. Loop HDMI 1: the signal from HDMI 1 Loop HDMI 2: the signal from HDMI 2 Tap  or to take a record or screenshot of the current displayed content, which will be saved to the album of the tablet. Multi-view and Duplicate Screen do not support record and screenshot. To exit external screen mode, tap and select "Disconnect".

How to use DJI OSMO Action 5 Pro on Director device

With Director device paired with the DJI Osmo Action 5 Pro, you can shoot high-definition videos and perform real-time editing, replay, recording, and streaming, enabling free video creation.  DJI Osmo Action 5 Pro can be connected to the Director device via the following ways. Connecting the Osmo Action 5 Pro and Director via RTMP Push Create a RTMP Push scene on the Director device, remembering the streaming address at the bottom of the page when you create it. When the device is connected to multiple networks, it displays multiple URL addresses, including wired, wireless, hotspot, etc.   Open the DJI Mimo app, and ensure it has connected with your Osmo Action 5 Pro. You may refer to the DJI user manual. Slide the bottom menu to "LIVESTREAM", select RTMP, and tap "Start Livestreaming Settings". The app starts preparing to livestream. Wait for about 15 seconds and stay on app screen.   Connect the Osmo Action 5 Pro to the same network as the Director device in "Camera Network Status", enter the RTMP streaming address from the first step, slide the phone page for more settings, tap "Start Livestream" and wait a few moments for the footage captured by your Osmo Action 5 Pro to appear on your Director device.Note: When entering the streaming address, if the camera is connected to a wireless network, you should enter the URL for the wireless network; if connecting to a wired network, you should enter the URL for the wired network; if connecting to the Hotspot of the Director device, enter the URL for the hotspot network. At this point, you can use your Osmo Action 5 Pro to shoot videos, and start editing, recording or streaming on the Director device. When serving as an RTMP source, the Osmo Action 5 Pro supports up to 1080p30.   Connecting the Osmo Action 5 Pro and Director device via a USB-C cable Create a scene on Director device and select a Webcam source, such as WEBCAM1. Connect the USB-C port of Osmo Action 5 Pro to the USB-A or USB-C port of Director device. Select "Webcam" mode on the Osmo Action 5 Pro. The video should appear on Director device at this point. Now, you can use Osmo Action 5 Pro to shoot videos, and start editing, recording or streaming on Director device. When serving as a webcam source, the Osmo Action 5 Pro supports up to 1080p30, in MJPG format.   Connecting the Osmo Action 5 Pro and Director device via a USB-C to HDMI HUB Connect a USB-C HUB to the USB-C port of Osmo Action 5 Pro. Connect the HUB to the HDMI port, such as HDMI 1, of your Director device with an HDMI cable. Create a scene on Director device and select the HDMI 1 source. Then the video should appear on Director device at this point. Now, you can use Osmo Action 5 Pro to shoot videos, and start editing, recording or streaming on Director device. When serving as an HDMI source, the Osmo Action 5 Pro supports up to 1080p60.  

First-time Using Pro Convert IP to USB in Zoom Rooms

Pro Convert IP to USB side: Connect one end to the network and the other end to a computer. Install and launch Zoom Rooms on the computer connected in Step 1, and obtain the pairing code. Zoom Rooms side: Download and install version 6.5.5 and later. The host must be on the same LAN as the Pro Convert IP to USB. Open the Zoom Rooms controller, enter the pairing code above to pair with the computer connected to the Pro Convert IP to USB. You can now use Pro Convert IP to USB in Zoom Rooms: To control PTZ via Zoom Rooms For content sharing or video conference

Controlling PTZ via Zoom Rooms

Connect Pro Convert IP to USB and install Zoom Rooms according to the First-time Use Guide. Perform the following operations on the Pro Convert IP to USB side: Log in to the Web UI with an administrator account. In Sources, add NDI source (NDI PTZ) or other sources (Visca over UDP) based on PTZ type. In System Configuration > USB Device, set mode to Video Conference Mode, click Apply, and restart the device. Perform the following operations on the Zoom Rooms side: Log in to Zoom Rooms Controller and set the camera as Pro Convert IP to USB in Settings. For example, in a test meeting, click Control Camera to access PTZ controls and related functions.

Configuring Screen Sharing or Video Conference in Pro Convert IP to USB

When used with Zoom Rooms (version 6.5.5 and later), Pro Convert IP to USB supports two working modes: Content Mode for screen sharing Normal Mode for video conference. Configuration differs slightly between modes. After logging into Zoom Rooms: In Content Mode, Zoom Rooms directly displays the decoded content from Pro Convert IP to USB without specifying camera/audio devices. You can capture at 1080P30. In Normal Mode, you need to set camera as Pro Convert IP to USB to display decoded content, and control PTZ cameras, with 720P30 capture.   For Screen Sharing  Connect as shown above. In WebUI > Sources tab, add NDI source and start decoding. In System Configuration > USB Device, set mode to Content Mode for screen sharing. And click Apply to save the change. Restart the device by: unplugging and replugging it to make the mode change take effect.  clicking on the Reboot button at the upper right drop list. If you want to use it for video conference, you need to change the mode and restart the device again. After successful restart, log into Zoom Rooms. No camera setup required in Zoom Rooms Controller, and the decoded content is immediately shareable. Note: PTZ functions unavailable in this mode.   For Video Conference  Connect as shown above. Refer to Steps 1 & 2 above to add NDI source and start decoding. In System Configuration > USB Device, set mode to Normal Mode for video conference. And click Apply to save the change. Restart the device by: unplugging and replugging it to make the mode change take effect.  clicking on the Reboot button at the upper right drop list. If you want to use it for video conference, you need to change the mode and restart the device again. After successful restart, log into Zoom Rooms and set camera as source device in Zoom Rooms Controller to enable PTZ functions.

How to change audience from Only Me to Public when streaming to Facebook Live

Director newly supports selecting Audience for streaming to Facebook Live, to show your content to public, friends or only yourself.  For users who can only stream to Only Me, you can follow the below steps to change the audience. Upgrade your firmware to a newer version (V3.2.1273 and above). Go to Facebook > Settings & privacy > Business integrations, remove Director from "Active". Log out your account on the Director device. Log in your account again and finish the authentication. Scroll the page, and select Audience. Select an option to determine what audience your content will be shown to. You may choose Public to show to everyone.      

Unable to change the background color of the shortcut

The Director device has upgraded the shortcut addition method in version 3.2. This version does not force users to specify key codes and key texts for shortcut keys.   If the device is downgraded from version 3.2 to version 3.1 or lower, relevant errors will occur. This is because lower versions require key codes and key texts to be specified for shortcut keys, and issues like failure to change the background color may arise.   You can resolve this problem by specifying key codes and key texts for the shortcut keys.  Please refer to How to use shortcuts for Director device - Magewell
